Earlier this month CNN en Español unveiled new content and platform changes, which included the appointment of Vivek Shaw as its general manager and Alámara García as SVP content.
“For far too long, CNN en Español has been sitting on the sidelines as the United States Latino audience makes its way towards the mainstream,” said Vivek Shaw, CNN International’s executive vice president and managing director for EMEA, Central and South America, and Latin America. “Today we are announcing key changes to make us more relevant, better reach the audience, and better define and showcase the magic happening in Latin America.”
Throughout 2016 and 2017, CNN en Español went from a 3.5 percent audience share to a 17 percent reach rate among all non-English speaking CNN viewers. Overall in 2017, the network grew its audience double digits compared to 2016, with audiences tuning in to watch CNN en Español throughout the year.
With new and exclusive programming, CNN en Español is set to deliver news, analysis and interactivity in new and exciting ways.
