Tom Brady threw for two touchdowns and the New England Patriots defeated the New York Giants 30-10 in Sunday’s NFL season finale.

The Giants had hoped to reach the playoffs for the ninth consecutive year but fell short of clinching a play-off spot.

Brady completed 19 of 29 passes for 280 yards in the Patriots’ ninth victory in 11 games.

Eli Manning and Odell Beckham Jr struggled as the Giants failed to score until the fourth quarter.

Eli Manning scored New York’s only touchdown but was limited to 105 yards in the loss

The only touchdown for New York was a one-yard touchdown run by Manning, whose late field goal was short, but enough to put his team in front.

The loss, however, will end the Giants’ season with three games remaining.

The Houston Texans finished the regular season 11-5 and are the only team with more wins than the Giants, who last reached the playoffs in 2008, while New England (11-5) are the highest-scoring team in the NFL with 422 points.
